We have aged our Tongue Buckler Imperial Red Ale in bourbon barrels and it is ready to drink. Yep, that 10% ABV monstrosity has been, as they say, kicked up a notch. It was a quick stay in the barrel. We didn't want the beer to lose all of it's hallmark hoppiness. And after only a couple of months, a lot remains. Flavors of vanilla and oak now intertwine with the malty sweetness and are countered by a pronounced hop bitterness.
