American Barleywine aged 12 weeks in old oak whiskey barrels. The result is nothing short of spectacular. This is a big, chewy, luscious ale, with deep bready and caramelly malt character perfectly balanced with assertive American hop bitterness. He used 12 different malts and hopped it with Nugget, Chinook, and Cascade, and the oak barrel aging adds complexity without much whiskey character coming through. It finishes long and smooth despite the 10.9% alcohol by volume.
